Winifred Grace CLIFTON
Winifred passed into glory on March 7, 2006 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband Fred Clifton, her children, Jim, Betty, Carolyn, Susan Nudelman, nephew John Clifton and niece Valerie Cheng, her sister Elizabeth Warhanik, and many loving grandchildren. She was born in Seattle, Washington on February 27, 1916 to Dr. Charles and Elizabeth Warhanik, graduated from Ballard High School and the University of Washington in art education and taught art classes in Chehalis, Washington and the Seattle YWCA. She was a painter of northwest scenes and her bold style beautifully captured the post war period in a unique way. Winnie was an active member of Green Lake Presbyterian Church for many years and was their beloved ”resident artist” who created large and colorful murals for bible school and other special occasions. Winifred will be remembered for her sunny disposition, her unwavering love for her husband, her children, and her Lord, Jesus Christ. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Union Gospel Mission.
